Solving problems for our clients requires constant vigilance and a passion for quality. The Product Sales Specialist is responsible for ensuring our CAD solutions are positioned and sold with deep product expertise, clear business value, and an understanding of real-world engineering workflows, enabling clients to make confident, informed technology decisions.

The ideal candidate will possess deep CAD product knowledge, strong commercial and competitive judgement, and the ability to translate complex engineering workflows into clear customer value, be easy to work with, and an overall problem solver.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deep product expertise and value positioning to Account Executives during CAD-related sales opportunities.
  • Lead CAD-specific discovery focused on design workflows, user personas, adoption considerations, and business outcomes.
  • Articulate competitive differentiation and positioning of PTC CAD solutions relative to alternatives.
  • Advise on license models, product packaging, and solution bundling related to CAD offerings as subject matter expert.
  • Align product value positioning with Sales Engineers based upon assessment of technical feasibility and solution design.
  • Articulate and persuade customers about the technical merits of a proposed solution, in customer meetings, using presentations, and demonstrations as the CAD subject-matter expert.
  • Establish components of deal strategy based upon analysis of CAD scope, messaging, and buyer concerns.
  • Provide feedback to Marketing and Sales Operations on CAD messaging, buyer objections, and market trends.
  • Deliver training to internal and external resources in CAD-related opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing, industrial engineering preferred or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience selling, supporting, or enabling CAD or related engineering software solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of CAD buyer personas, workflows, and adoption challenges.
  • Experience participating in complex, customer-facing sales conversations.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Experience with Model Based Design (MBD) or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, and confidence to utilize those skills in front of clients.

  • Improved win rate on CAD-related opportunities.
  • Increased deal quality and deal size for CAD-inclusive sales.
  • Reduced late-stage deal risk related to CAD fit or adoption.
  • Sales team confidence and effectiveness when positioning CAD solutions.

Territory and Coverage Model

The Product Sales Specialist – CAD is a non-territorial role. Engagements are assigned based on deal complexity, product relevance, and sales priorities. Coverage assignments may change as business needs evolve.

Pay Range and Compensation Package
