Base Salary Range $96k – $106k

On Target Earning Potential $120k – $132k

The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in both the sales and delivery lifecycle. This position partners closely with Sales to understand prospective client needs, design technical solutions, and support the sales process through discovery, solution architecture, demonstrations, and technical validation.

Following project award, this role contributes to the design, development, testing, documentation, and support of customer-specific solutions. This is a customer-facing role and may involve travel up to approximately 30% of the time, or more if desired.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, business acumen, and a consultative mindset.

Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Client Engagement

  • Partner with Sales and Business Development to support new business opportunities.
  • Participate in client discovery meetings to understand business objectives, technical environments, and project requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into high-level solution designs and technical proposals.
  • Assist in scoping, estimating, and defining project approaches.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs.
  • Respond to technical portions of RFPs, RFQs, and proposals.
  • Provide technical thought leadership during early-stage client conversations.

Solution Design & Implementation

  • Translate approved solution designs into detailed technical implementations.
  • Build and maintain applications using proprietary frameworks or platforms.
  • Develop enterprise integrations to query and manipulate data from existing software solutions.
  • Deliver secure, high-performance, and maintainable code using established best practices.
  • Support testing, documentation, and post-deployment client needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a solutions engineering, software engineering, or technical consulting role.
  • Experience participating in client-facing technical discussions or pre-sales engagements preferred.
  • Experience with front-end development using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with backend development using OOP languages such as Java (Spring framework) or .NET, including REST API design and implementation.
  • Experience with PTC products such as Codebeamer, Thingworx, or Windchill is preferred.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks or formal unit testing practices.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly adaptable and eager to learn new frameworks and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
